  • WHAT HAPPENED?

West Ham star Bowen and fiancee Dyer are expected to tie the knot later this year after having to ditch plans to get married in 2026. Dyer has admitted that she would rather have waited another year to walk down the aisle but the small matter of the upcoming World Cup in North America, Canada and Mexico made it simply impossible.

  • WHAT DYER SAID

Chatting with dad Danny on their 'Live and Let Dyers' podcast she said: "We had to move the wedding forward anyway because there's England games in June. This was the problem. I would have liked to have left it one more year and then done it in 2026 but if there's a World Cup how can I plan a wedding around a potential World Cup? Imagine he got called to the World Cup and then his wedding was booked."

Danny then posed the question: "Well, what do you do? Do you get married or go and play in a World Cup?"

And Dani was in no doubt what her fiancee would do in that situation, replying: "I think he'd go play in the World Cup to be honest!"

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

England will start qualification for the tournament in March and will be favourites to progress from Group K under new boss Thomas Tuchel. If they do indeed progress, then Bowen will be hopeful of being included in the Three Lions squad. The 28-year-old was part of the England squad that made it to the final of Euro 2024 and remains a key player for club side West Ham.
