    WHAT HAPPENED?

Arsenal saw their title hope fade even further away after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford on Saturday. Thomas Partey handed the Gunners the lead just past the hour mark, but Yoane Wissa's 74th-minute equaliser ensured that the Gunners dropped two important points. Premier League leaders Liverpool are now just three wins away from securing their record-equalling 20th top-flight title.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In the first half, Bees midfielder Christian Norgaard picked up a yellow card for a late challenge that brought Martinelli down to the ground. After the match, the Brazilian winger vented his anger at the Danish midfielder and claimed he should have been sent off for the tackle.

  • WHAT GABRIEL MARTINELLI SAID

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 23-year-old said: "I didn’t see that again but in my opinion, in the moment, if my foot was on the floor, then he could break my leg. He said he didn’t mean it - I believe him - but still he could have broke my leg. For me, it was red. I need to see it again to be sure, but for me, it was nasty."

With their Premier League title hopes all but gone, Mikel Arteta's side will now aim to secure a place in the Champions League semi-finals as they carry a three-goal lead to Madrid for the second leg of their quarter-final tie at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 16.
