Bayern dealt massive injury blow as Harry Kane forced off injured against Dortmund ahead of crunch clash against Bayer Leverkusen

Kane was seen gesturing for medical attention 30 minutes into the Bundesliga match. After being treated on the field, Bayern decided to take him off with Thomas Muller taking his place.

The loss of Kane will come as a huge concern for Vincent Kompany, depriving his side of a huge threat for the rest of the Klassiker showdown. The Belgian coach will also be worried that he will be without the Bundesliga top scorer when they meet Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.

Kane had a quiet game before his substitution, managing just 11 touches and failing to get a shot off as his side went 1-0 down through a goal from fellow Englishman Jamie Gittens. The 31-year-old was criticised for a tame display despite his team winning against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in midweek.

Kane will have to be assessed to determine if he can feature against Leverkusen, which is followed by a home game against Heidenheim in the league.
