Barcelona rule The Best Women's World XI for 2024! Aitana Bonmati headlines selection with Lioness Lucy Bronze also honoured

As the winner of The Best FIFA Women's Player for 2024 at the ceremony on Tuesday, Aitana Bonmati was the highlight selection for the top 11 of the year, with fellow Barca stars Irene Paredes, Ona Batlle, Caroline Graham Hansen, Salma Paralluelo and Patri Guijarro.

England and Chelsea right-back Lucy Bronze - who left Barca in the summer - was also included in the team alongside United States stars Alyssa Naeher, Naomi Girma and Lindsey Horan and Brazil's Gabi Portilho.

It was no surprise to see Barcelona so heavily represented after they finished the season with four trophies, including the Women's Champions League and Liga F titles.

The Catalan side will look to reinforce their status as the world's best team when they face Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.
