Arsenal move stadium! Gunners confirm women's team will play home games at Emirates Stadium across WSL & UWCL next season

The overwhelming support from fans across north London has prompted the Gunners to increase the number of home games played at the Emirates Stadium in the 2024-25 season. The team plans to host eight Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) matches and three UEFA Women’s Champions League at N5 and should Jonas Eidevall's troops qualify for the UWCL group stages and beyond, all further home matches in the competition will also be held at the Emirates.

The remaining fixtures, including all women’s domestic cup matches in the FA Cup and League Cup, will continue to be played at their traditional home venue, Meadow Park. Arsenal Women have experienced remarkable attendance figures in 2023-24, with an average crowd of 52,029 turning out for the six WSL matches hosted at Emirates Stadium. These matches included two sell-outs and three WSL attendance records. Overall, the team has seen an average crowd of 32,618 across both home venues throughout the season, with sell-outs for every fixture at Meadow Park.

Gunners boss Jonas Eidevall said in a statement to the club media's channels: "We have a special connection with our supporters, who have shown up in huge numbers and pushed us forward every step of the way. Next season, Emirates Stadium becomes our main home and we're all excited to play in front of bigger crowds every week. We can’t wait to see you all there.”

Arsenal Women made history at the Emirates in February 2024 when they set a new Women’s Super League attendance record. A staggering 60,160 spectators witnessed their clash against Manchester United, surpassing the previous record of 59,042 set during Arsenal’s fixture against Chelsea in December 2023, also at the Emirates.

This move signifies Arsenal's commitment to growing their women's football fanbase and further establishing themselves as a prominent force, utilizing the iconic Emirates venue as a showcase for their games. Eidevall's side are currently sitting third in the WSL standings with 47 points and will play their final fixture of the season against Brighton on Saturday at Meadow Park.
