  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Brazilian winger departed Old Trafford for Real Betis in a January loan deal, and has taken La Liga by storm, scoring four goals and adding a further five assists in 11 appearances for his new club. Antony's latest stellar display saw him set up the winning goal for Cucho Hernandez in Real Betis' 3-2 win over Leganes on Sunday.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

His dire form in the Premier League left Man Utd fans frustrated with the 25-year-old after the Red Devils forked out £85m ($110m) to sign him from Ajax and saw little to no return on their investment. But the Manchester outcast has now offered an explanation as to why he did not reach his best level at Old Trafford.

  • WHAT DID ANTONY SAY?

Speaking to Spanish TV on his exploits in Spain so far, Antony said: "The city has also played a lot, which is better [than Manchester] and good here. I am very happy here with it. And the sun here helps a lot. You’re every day at noon, awake, listening to yourself, I go to sleep smiling and that’s the most important thing for me."

    WHAT NEXT FOR ANTONY?

Recent reports have suggested Antony would be keen to make his move to Betis permanent at the end of the season. And as we enter the spring and summer months, he is only going to enjoy his time in sunny Spain more, particularly if he continues to thrive at Betis, who are due back in La Liga action after the international break against local rivals Sevilla.
