<p>News agency AGI reports that the Milan right-back is being investigated for alleged illegal gambling, as the betting scandal in the country rolls on. Both Juventus' Nicolo Fagioli and Newcastle's Sandro Tonali have already been banned, for <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/nicolo-fagioli-seven-month-ban-betting-illegal-platforms-juventus-paul-pogba/blt181091d73849f379" target="_blank">seven months</a> and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/sandro-tonali-ban-ratified-by-fifa-as-10-month-suspension-officially-begins/blt172bc90d175908d2" target="_blank">10 months respectively</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Florenzi, it is reported, is expected to meet with the Italian prosecutor in the coming days to discuss the case. He remains a useful member of Milan's squad and has started five Serie A games this season, while coming off the bench on five other occasions. </p>

<p>The 32-year-old has a contract with Milan until 2025 and is also a seasoned Italy international, with 49 caps under his belt. He has played 49 times for the San Siro club since joining in 2022.</p>
