La Saint Colomban Locmine Overview

Chelsea, Arsenal, the Orlando Pride and the London City Lionesses all broke the world record in 2025 alone, as spending in the women's game grows

The 2026 summer transfer window promised to be an extremely eventful one in the women's game, with several huge stars on the move, and so it proved. Alexia Putellas, Georgia Stanway and Sam Kerr were just some of those who completed transfers as some of the biggest names in the sport found themselves new clubs over the past three months or so.

Khadija Shaw is one of the best centre-forwards in the women's game, if not the best. Winner of three successive Women's Super League Golden Boots, and scorer of more goals than any other player in Europe's top five leagues since her move to Manchester City in 2021, it's no wonder that Chelsea were trying to bring her to west London as her contract neared its expiry this summer. But as it became apparent that the Blues were going to miss out on Shaw, it says a lot about Felicia Schroder that the Swedish teenager was next on their wish list.

Real Madrid have officially completed the signing of Swedish teenage sensation Felicia Schroder from BK Hacken for a world-record fee in women's football. The 19-year-old striker has signed a four-year contract with the Spanish giants until 2030, a move that leaves Chelsea frustrated after their earlier record-breaking bid was ultimately unsuccessful in securing her signature.
