Having failed to advance in the Libertadores, Universidad de Chile will now take on Argentina's Independiente in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana round of 16 at Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Pradanos on Wednesday.
La U defeated Paraguayan outfit Guarani 6-2 on aggregate in the knockout round play-offs. Meanwhile, Independiente secured the top spot in Group A of the Sudamericana.
The winner of this game over two legs will face either Alianza Lima or Universidad Catolica in the quarter-finals.
