Lamine Yamal ends up with bloodied ankle after heavy challenge during Barcelona's Copa del Rey win over Atletico Madrid

The Blaugrana were forced to work hard for a 1-0 victory in the Spanish capital that has sent them through to another final - with a solitary strike from Ferran Torres enough to secure them a 5-4 aggregate success.

Teen sensation Yamal was able to complete 87 minutes of that contest, before being replaced by Gerard Martin, despite finding himself on the receiving end of some rough treatment from opponents that were eager to contain the threat that he poses by any means possible.

One particularly robust tackle was put in by Clement Lenglet, with the French defender pulling no punches against his parent club. He caught Yamal with his studs, leaving the 17-year-old limping and bleeding from a wound on his ankle.

Yamal was able to take part in Barcelona’s post-match celebrations, suggesting that he has suffered no lasting damage, and Hansi Flick’s side remain in the hunt for La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League titles in 2025.
