'See you soon!' - Harry Kane drops emotional tribute to ex-Tottenham team-mate Son Heung-min with 'joy to see you lift a trophy' message

England captain Kane spent eight memorable years working alongside Son in north London. That record-setting partnership, with made Premier League history when it comes to goal combinations, was broken up when Kane completed a move to Bayern Munich in 2023.

He spread his wings in a bid to break a much-publicised trophy duck, with that curse finally being lifted in 2024-25 when becoming a Bundesliga title winner. Spurs also lifted major silverware last season after a 17-year wait.

Son was, as club captain, the man to get his hands on the Europa League crown. He has now made his own move away from Spurs, after 10 years with the club, and is ready to take on a new challenge in MLS with LAFC.

Kane posted on Instagram when recognising Son’s heroic contribution to the Tottenham cause during a decade of loyal service in England: "Sonny Sonny Sonny. What can I say. We shared so many magical moments together on and off the pitch over the years. As a person and a player you deserved all the success you’ve enjoyed. One of the very best people in the game.

"It gave me such joy to see you lift a trophy last season and no doubt you’ll be a success with your next steps. See you soon."

Kane missed the chance to be reunited with Son when Bayern faced Spurs in a pre-season friendly. Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer was on target in that contest, while also firing a penalty over the crossbar at the Allianz Arena as he slipped on impact.
