Kylian Mbappe has not handed in a transfer request, Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has stated.
The 18-year-old France striker was a sensation last term but his new season started sluggishly as he was withdrawn injured from the Ligue 1 champions’ 3-2 victory over Toulouse.
It was a performance that came among a plethora of transfer rumours linking the player with a giant move to the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, with some reports even suggesting the player had asked for a deal to be concluded.
“We’re still in discussions with Kylian but he has never expressed his desire to leave the club,” Vasilyev said. “Two parties have to come to an agreement, but I want to keep him.
“He’s got many offers and it’s his decision to take, but like I said, I want him to stay.”
In the meantime, Monaco are waiting on news of his injury, which appeared to be to his knee, caused following an awkward fall.
Head coach Leonardo Jardim is optimistic it is not serious, however.
"I don't think the injury is too bad, he'll be better in two or three days," the Portuguese said.
