  • WHAT HAPPENED?

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

The report adds that Madrid understands that 'none of them (midfielders) are worth (€100m) it' except Rodri, and the Spanish giants 'really like' the Spain international. Rodri initially said he "doesn't think of other teams" when he is playing for a club, before later stating in 2024 that if Madrid call you, "you have to pay attention". But Madrid reportedly admit signing him will be difficult.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Rodri, who angered much of Madrid's support when he beat Vinicius Junior to the 2024 Ballon d'Or and revelled in edging out the winger, still has two years left on his City contract. So next year, more teams may move for the experienced midfielder.

    WHAT NEXT?

Rodri, who is trying to regain his top form after a lengthy knee injury, will soon return to City as they prepare for the 2025/26 Premier League season. The Spaniard is likely to be key for Pep Guardiola's men next term.
