After Jean-Philippe Mateta's penalty gave Palace a 1-0 lead just before the hour mark, the Eagles saw Jordan Ayew sent off for a second yellow card in a contentious decision from the referee. Liverpool immediately capitalised on the numerical advantage when Egypt star Salah fired into the net after a short pass from Curtis Jones found him free inside the box. Harvey Elliott went on to secure the three points for Liverpool with a late winner.

The goal is Salah's 200th for Liverpool since his arrival at the Anfield club from Roma in 2017. The attacker needed 327 appearance to reach the double century. It is also his 150th Premier League goal in 247 appearances, having scored 148 for Liverpool and two for Chelsea.

Salah is just the fourth player to score 200 goals for Liverpool, joining Ian Rush, who scored 346, Roger Hunt, who finished his career on 285, Gordon Hodgson, 241, and Billy Liddell with 228. Salah is also now the joint-10th top scorer in Premier League history, alongside Michael Owen, who reached the figure with 326 appearances.

After beating Palace at Selhurst Park, Liverpool have now won five and drawn one of their last six matches in all competitions. Jurgen Klopp's team will hope to extend that run of form when they take on Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the Europa League on Thursday.
