Man Utd players had enough of Erik ten Hag? Red Devils boss told some of his squad 'weren't happy' with Newcastle tactics

Jones felt that players like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial did not approve of United manager Erik ten Hag's tactics against Newcastle United as both the attackers were visibly frustrated on the pitch.

Ten Hag had even flailed his arms at the French striker with anger during the first half and subbed off both players around the hour mark.

Speaking on TNT Sports after the match, Jones said, "I personally thought tonight there were signs that there were a couple of players in there for me that either wasn't happy with the tactics that were put to them or weren't happy with their positions on the pitch.

"The body language of a team tells you a lot at times and there were a few of them that were sending a message to the manager. I thought today Marcus Rashford on that right hand side in particular, the way that he just walked around throwing his arms around was one for me that said "look, I don't want to be playing on this right hand side."

He added, "No tracking back, you had Martial getting ran by Fabian Schar from the centre half doing whatever he wants. There was too many of those moments that I looked at and I thought he (Ten Hag) seems to be such a disciplinarian off the pitch but I didn't see the same level of respect from the players on the pitch today and that's a big concern."

It has been a tough week for the Red Devils who first drew 3-3 against Galatasaray in the midweek and are now staring at a possible Champions League group stage exit. On Saturday, they went down 1-0 against the Magpies courtesy of Anthony Gordon's solitary goal and currently find themselves seventh in the league, nine points behind leaders Arsenal.

After back-to-back disappointing performances in two different competitions, United are set to play seven matches this month starting on December 6 when they take On Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea in a crucial Premier League fixture.
