THE BIGGER PICTURE
United are reportedly preparing for big changes to their squad this year under new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. With Anthony Martial leaving this summer, Rasmus Hojlund is their sole striker, so having an extra man in attack like David would bolster their attacking options.

David, whose contract at the Ligue 1 side expires in 2025, scored 26 goals and bagged nine assists in 47 appearances this season. He has scored 84 goals in 183 matches since joining Lille from Gent in 2020.
