BackpagepixRichard Ofori - 7.5/10
Relatively untroubled throughout the game.
Ofori dealt well with aerial balls which were played in his area with Simba failing to take shots on target.
He was the hero during the penalty shootout as he denied Jonas Mkude and he went on to convert the final spot-kick to earn Bucs a 4-3 win on penalties.
BackpagepixBandile Shandu - 6/10
Not a particularly eye-catching performance from him.
Shandu was comfortable on the ball, but hardly needed to use his pace to track back and squandered a great opportunity in front of goal in the first half.
BackpagepixInnocent Maela - 7/10
Made his second successive start with Paseko Mako out injured.
Maela always ventured forward which saw him grab an assist for the only goal of the match. He was also rock-solid defensively as he contained Israel Mwenda until he was substituted in the closing stages.
BackpagepixOlisa Ndah - 8/10
Marked his return to the starting line-up with an eye-catching performance.
Ndah was sound in defence for the Buccaneers making vital clearances and interceptions, while also being a threat in the opposition's box. He was denied twice by goalkeeper Aishi Manula.Backpagepix
Ntsikelelo Nyauza - 6.5/10
Had a fairly comfortable evening.
This is despite having to deal with the presence of Crispin Mugalu, who was sent off in the second half. Nyauza made some well-timed tackles and also covered for Ndah.
Backpagepix.Abel Mabaso - 6/10
Also played well on his return to the team.
Mabaso frustrated Simba play with crucial interceptions, but he was substituted at half-time when Pirates were looking to add more numbers in attack. He was replaced by attacking midfielder Linda Mntambo.
BackpagepixFortune Makaringe - 7/10
Dominant in midfield after being handed a start.
Makaringe won possession and distributed the ball with aplomb while also playing a big role stitching attacking plays for his own side.
BackpagepixDeon Hotto - 7/10
A livewire in the left flank and took shots which were on target.
Hotto used his pace and agility to trouble opposition defenders throughout while also forcing Manula into making two saves. He scored from the spot-kick in the shootout.
BackpagepixThembinkosi Lorch - 6.5/10
His sharp movement created problems for the Simba defence.
Lorch was lively throughout the game and dropped deep to help his teammates make attacking runs, but chances didn't fall for him in the opposition's box.Backpagepix
Terrence Dzvukamanja - 6/10
Handed a rare start with Bucs desperate for a win.
Dzvukamanja started sharply and he fired the game's first shot on target which was blocked by Manula. He was substituted while looking exhausted in the second half.Backpagepix
Kwame Peprah - 8/10
One of his best performances for the Buccaneers.
Peprah used his imposing physique to bully the Simba defenders. He also used his pace and ability to run in behind the defence to torment the visitors which saw him score the winning goal.
BackpagepixLinda Mntambo - 6/10
Put in a decent shift after coming at half-time - playing some smart passes and he had a goal ruled out for offside.
BackpagepixTshegofatso Mabasa - 5.5/10
Never stopped running after coming in the 63rd minute - pressing and hurrying the Simba defenders into making mistakes. He took his penalty very well during the shootout.
