Tulane vs East Carolina team news & key players

Tulane Green Wave team news

Quarterback Jake Retzlaff was efficient if unspectacular, throwing for 242 yards on 17-of-30 passing (56.7%) while adding 29 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. He played mistake-free football — exactly what the Green Wave needed to control the tempo.

Meanwhile, running back Javin Gordon powered the offense, finding the end zone three times and racking up 78 yards on 15 carries, averaging an impressive 5.2 yards per tote. The passing attack had its spark, too, with Omari Hayes turning just four catches into 89 yards — a blistering 22.3 yards per grab — to keep the Tulsa defense honest.

East Carolina Pirates team news

Katin Houser once again showed flashes of command under center. He completed 15 of 22 throws for 251 yards, tossing two touchdowns and one interception while also sneaking in for a rushing score. Though his mobility didn't shine (eight rushes for -2 yards), his poise in the pocket certainly did.

The Pirates' ground game was steady, with London Montgomery churning out 58 yards on 15 carries. Out wide, Anthony Smith made the most of his opportunities, catching three passes for 87 yards and a touchdown, proving to be the explosive playmaker ECU needed to stretch the field.
