Rangers and Dundee are set to lock horns on Saturday afternoon in Matchday 2 of the 2025-26 Scottish Premiership, with both sides eager to notch their first league win of the new season.
Both clubs are licking their wounds after opening-day frustrations and will be hungry to put three points on the board. For Rangers, Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Motherwell marked the third straight season they've failed to win their Premiership opener, echoing a dry spell not seen since the early '80s. Although their midweek European triumph was a reminder of their quality on the continental stage, the Gers now turn their focus to restoring their domestic dominance.
Dundee haven't fared much better. The Dark Blues are now without a win in six straight Premiership openers—three draws, three defeats—since a rare victory over Ross County back in 2016-17. Their early exit from the League Cup added salt to the wound, and facing Rangers at Ibrox is hardly the bounce-back fixture they’d have hoped for. But with expectations low and nothing to lose, they’ll be out to spring a surprise.
