Inter Milan's quest to wrestle the Scudetto back to the blue half of San Siro rolls on this weekend, as Cristian Chivu prepares his side to host Udinese under the lights at the Meazza.
Last season's trophyless campaign spelt the end of Simone Inzaghi's reign, with the Italian moving on to Saudi Arabia, and the club hierarchy placing their faith in Chivu to steer Inter back to the summit of Italian football. So far, the early signs are promising.
The Nerazzurri announced themselves in style on opening day, dismantling Torino 5-0 thanks to braces from strike duo Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martínez, while defender Alessandro Bastoni also got in on the act. That emphatic win sent shockwaves across Serie A, especially after title rivals Napoli started their own campaign with a tidy 2-0 victory over Sassuolo.
Carrying that momentum into their second league outing, Inter face an Udinese outfit unbeaten in competitive play so far this season. Kosta Runjaic's men eased past Serie B side Carrarese 2-0 in the Coppa Italia before battling to a 1-1 draw with Hellas Verona on the opening weekend, with Thomas Kristensen's thumping header cancelled out by Suat Serdar. Still, the Friulani arrive burdened by a dreadful record at this ground — their last triumph at the San Siro came way back in December 2017.

Team news & squads
Inter team news
On the team news front, Hakan Çalhanoglu and youngster Francesco Pio Esposito are both available again after serving suspensions, handing Chivu a near full-strength squad. New signings Luiz Henrique, Andy Diouf, Petar Sucic, and Ange Bonny, the latter following Chivu from Parma, have been drafted in to inject fresh legs into the group. Of the quartet, only Sucic started in the opener, but Çalhanoglu's return could see him pushed back to the bench.
Up top, Inter's dynamic partnership of Lautaro and Thuram is expected to lead the line once more.
Udinese team news
Udinese will likely attack with Keinan Davis and Iker Bravo spearheading their attack. Recent arrival Adam Buksa should take a spot on the bench alongside former Inter forward Alexis Sánchez.
Between the sticks, Udinese are without Maduka Okoye, banned for two months due to betting irregularities, meaning Razvan Sava continues in goal. Elsewhere, Matteo Palma faces a race against time to shake off a muscular issue.
