Injuries and Suspended players

Inter team news

Coach Cristian Chivu goes into his first league match in charge with several important absentees: both Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Pio Esposito are suspended for accumulated yellow cards from last season’s finale.

Petar Sucic, a summer signing, will reportedly be given a debut in the middle of the park. The forward line sees Marcus Thuram partnering Lautaro Martínez, with depth coming from recent signings Ange-Yoan Bonny and first-team promotion Francesco Pio Esposito.

André Onana’s replacement, Yann Sommer, starts in goal. Injury concerns are minimal, though Inter are closely watching players' fitness due to a busy preseason.

Torino team news

New boss Marco Baroni has several selection headaches, with defensive doubts around Alieu Nije and Adam Masina. Full-back Emil Holm remains out for another month due to a thigh problem, and suspended players or additional injury updates are otherwise not expected for this match.

Torino’s attack will feature Ciro Immobile - back in Serie A after a stint abroad - supported by regulars Nikola Vlasic and Zakaria Aboukhlal. Torino arrive off a 1-0 Coppa Italia win over Modena, with midfielder Cesare Casadei pushing for a start. Despite some summer departures, their core of Saúl Coco in defense and Vlasic in midfield remains intact, but they come into the season after an unconvincing, defensively shaky pre-season.
