He has told the Men In Blazers podcast of why he stepped out of that post and into a community director role: "As the club has grown, I found that my role as a sort of executive figure, and sort of sub-board level, was less and less necessary. Michael Williamson the new CEO and so many new members of staff⌠we just keep hiring people left right and centre, which is brilliant because we are growing and we desperately needed to do that stuff.
"But I was getting loads of emails from people being like, âWhy havenât you signed Kevin De Bruyneâ, [and] âCould you play Ross Common in a friendly because Iâm going thereâ."
