Where does Mason Greenwood want to play? Transfer ‘preference’ update as Man Utd winger is linked with Juventus & Barcelona during 10-goal Getafe loan

The 22-year-old is currently catching the eye during a loan spell in Spain with Getafe. He has posted a personal-best return of league goal contributions this season, with double figures reached when it comes to finding the net himself.

There has been talk of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid looking to keep Greenwood in La Liga, while Italian giants Juventus are ready to jump to the front of a recruitment queue. It remains to be seen whether any of the interested parties would be willing to meet United’s asking price.

The Red Devils may decide to take up a contract extension option through to 2026, allowing them to sanction another loan. Transfer expert Matteo Moretto has told the Daily Briefing from CaughtOffside of Juve’s supposed interest and where Greenwood’s head is at: “It will not be easy because there is a lot of competition for the 22-year-old. From Greenwood’s perspective, at this stage, I don’t think he has expressed a preference for where he would like to play next season.”

Greenwood is not expected to return to Old Trafford, despite United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe leaving a door ajar there, and the one-cap England international will likely be plying his trade in continental Europe again next season.
