'I won't have fun' - Thomas Muller brutally shuts down Man Utd transfer question ahead of Bayern Munich exit

Muller is set to leave Bayern after this summer's Club World Cup, and while uncertainty remains over his next move, the German great has ruled out a switch to Ruben Amorim's troubled United side for now. The 35-year-old admitted in the past it would have been an attractive move but now he "wouldn't have fun".

He told CBS Sports: "Yeah, I thought about it. There were some moments I thought it would be nice to experience it."

When pressed on if a United move looked appealing, Muller replied: "Many times... or do you mean now? Now? No, no. I’m not the right guy for them and they are not the right club for me. They won’t have fun and I won’t have fun so that’s not a match."

Muller will go down as one of Bayern's greatest ever players after 25 years at the German giants, with 17 of those in the first-team. It seems the veteran could head to Major League Soccer but the fact that he has ruled out a United move is telling in regards to their current plight.

Muller will end his lengthy stay at Bayern following the conclusion of the Club World Cup. The forward could feature for his side against Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday in an intriguing quarter-final clash.
