Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler brutally told retired Luka Modric 'with a tomato garden in Croatia and seventy grandchildren' would still be better than him after poor performance against Villarreal
Arda Guler was brutally criticised by Spanish commentator Antonio Romero after a below-par cameo against Villarreal.
Arda Guler is currently facing a challenging time at Real Madrid. After his recent performance in the team's 2-1 victory over Villarreal, which led to an angry reaction from Kylian Mbappe after he failed to pass him the ball during his brief stint on the pitch, the Turkish talent has now come under fire from prominent Spanish journalist Antonio Romero.

WHAT ANTONIO ROMERO SAID
Antonio Romero, a commentator at Spanish radio station Cadena SER, firmly rejected the idea that Guler could take on the role of Luka Modric at the Bernabeu. He said: "This guy has been misleading from the start. Lots of highlights, lots of training sessions, but that's all – he's very 'viral'... Playing football is something else. When Modric retires, has a tomato garden in Croatia and seventy grandchildren, he will still be better than Guler!"
In the last 11 matches in La Liga or the Champions League, Guler has only managed 38 minutes of action. He has been called up for Turkey's two-legged Nations League play-off against Hungary, meanwhile, where he will be expected to start both games.
