Man City target Omar Marmoush was REJECTED by Nottingham Forest during summer window - with Nuno Espirito Santo telling Evangelos Marinakis to drop pursuit of £50m striker

The Reds have earned plenty of praise for their recent recruitment business, with considerable value being found in the likes of Murillo, Nikola Milenkovic, Matz Sels and Callum Hudson-Odoi. They also have a striker in 12-goal Chris Wood who is enjoying a serious purple patch.

They could, however, have made a play for highly-rated Egypt international Marmoush in 2024. According to the Daily Mail, Forest were ready to discuss a package worth a little over £20m ($25m) for the highly-rated Eintracht Frankfurt frontman.

They have gone on to see Marmoush register 17 goals and nine assists this season, with his price tag rising as a result. It is claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo informed Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and technical director George Syrianos that he did not need further firepower last summer with Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi already at his disposal.

There may be a slight sense of regret at the City Ground that no official bid for Marmoush was lodged, with the talented 25-year-old now being linked with a big-money move to reigning Premier League champions City in the January window.
