    There is every chance that Ipswich will be playing Premier League football next season, as they continue to ride high in the second tier table, but they found themselves on the wrong end of a cup humbling when playing host to Maidstone.

    George Elokobi’s side, who finished bottom of the National League last season as Wrexham swept to a record-breaking title triumph, are enjoying a historic FA Cup run in 2023-24 and will now form part of the fifth round draw – meaning that another glamour tie could be on the cards.

    Arsenal and England star Russo will be among the interested observers whoever they get paired against, with the Lionesses forward taking great pride in seeing the town that she grew up in put itself on the footballing map. She posted on social media alongside a video of the wild celebrations which greeted the final whistle at Portman Road: “FA Cup magic for the locals.”
