Keylor Navas, Angel Correa, Allan Saint-Maximin and Anthony Martial headline Liga MX transfer window with more than 250 moves

According to data compiled by Récord, the Apertura 2025 transfer window in Liga MX has officially closed, with more than 250 player moves across the league. While the season is already halfway through - Jornada 8 of 17 kicked off this weekend - clubs worked until the final hours to strengthen their rosters.

Across the 18 Liga MX clubs, there were 253 moves in total: 135 arrivals and 118 departures, averaging nearly 14 changes per team. Puebla led the way with 22 total transactions, followed by Querétaro, Juárez, and León with 19 apiece. Pachuca (17), Mazatlán (16), Pumas (16) and Xolos (15) also reshaped their squads heavily.

When it came to incoming talent, Tijuana signed a league-high 11 new players, while Puebla and Mazatlán each added 10. On the other hand, Puebla also topped the list of departures with 12 players leaving, trailed by Juárez and Querétaro (11 each).

Mexican players dominated the market, making up 169 of the 253 transactions, but the window also highlighted the league’s global recruitment. Argentine players accounted for 25 moves, followed by Uruguay (10), Brazil (9), Colombia (8), Spain (5), Ecuador (4), Venezuela (3), Peru (2) and France (2).

Navas (Pumas): Perhaps the most shocking move of the summer, Pumas landed the Costa Rican legend after weeks of complex negotiations. Coming from Newell’s Old Boys, the 38-year-old signed a one-year deal. His transfer reportedly cost $2 million and immediately made headlines worldwide.

Correa (Tigres): The 2022 World Cup champion left Atlético de Madrid to join Tigres in a deal worth close to $9 million. Correa, 30, signed through 2030, becoming one of the most ambitious signings in recent Liga MX history.

Saint-Maximin (América): The former Newcastle United star arrived from Al-Ahli and made an instant impact, scoring twice in his first two substitute appearances. Known for past discipline issues, Saint-Maximin has surprised América staff and fans with his work ethic, staying after training sessions and winning over supporters quickly.

Martial (Monterrey): Rayados pulled off a deadline day coup by signing the former Manchester United forward from AEK Athens.

Efraín Álvarez (Chivas): The Mexican international joined from Tijuana, viewed as a long-term project for Guadalajara.

William Carvalho (Pachuca): The Portuguese veteran, a Euro 2016 champion, brought European pedigree to Los Tuzos.

Ramsey (Pumas): The Welshman became the first from his country to sign in Liga MX. After a delayed debut, the former Arsenal midfielder already scored his first goal in Mexico.
