Kalvin Phillips' escape route? Juventus set to meet Man City over potential transfer for midfield outcast

Juventus are eyeing a move for Manchester City outcast Phillips in the January transfer window as their sporting director Guintoli is set to meet the officials of the Premier League champions very soon, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The meeting between the two parties could be held in the next few days considering the club will travel to Saudi Arabia to take part in the Club World Cup later this week.

Last week, Cityzens boss Pep Guardiola made it clear that the English midfielder will not feature for his side regularly this season which sort of opened the exit doors for the player.

The Bianconeri have been linked with a move for the former Leeds United player for some time now. They are in search of a midfielder as they are missing the services of players like Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli due to suspensions.

The 28-year-old has appeared in just eight matches across all competitions this season and has clocked 215 minutes on the pitch. He has featured in the Cityzens' starting lineup only once in the ongoing campaign which was against Newcastle in a Carabao Cup third round clash.

Other than Juventus, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also in the race to sign the English international and it remains to be seen if he wants to stay back in England or travel abroad for a new challenge.
