New Juventus signing Alisha Lehmann reveals Lionesses star is toughest opponent she's faced and names ultimate sporting hero

Questions, including her nickname, whether she prefers sea or mountains and her favourite Swiss food, were put to Lehmann. When it came to toughest opponent, the former Aston Villa star answered Chelsea and England centre-back Millie Bright. For overall sporting hero, she said fellow Swiss star Roger Federer.

Lehmann, who completed a transfer to Juventus from Villa in the days after boyfriend Douglas Luiz made the same move, spent six years in the WSL going up against Bright. Prior to joining Villa in 2021, the forward had spent time at West Ham, initially arriving there as a teenager in 2018, and Everton.

Lehmann signed a three-year contract with Juve that promises to keep her in Turin until the summer of 2027.

Aside from moving her life to Italy, Lehmann's short-term focus will be on representing Switzerland in upcoming Euro 2025/Nations Legaue qualifying against Turkey and Azerbaijan on July 12 and 16. Longer-term, she will hope to inspire a new look Juventus side to a first Serie A title since 2022 following two seasons of domestic dominance from Roma.
