The German champions won courtesy of two Michael Olise goals on a wet day in Munich, Alejandro Rodriguez pulling a goal back late on for financially-stricken Lyon. England captain Kane took to X to share a photo of himself drenched during the match, expressing his delight at victory alongside a tongue-in-cheek claim that he "loves playing in this weather".
Kane captioned his post on X: "Great to be back at the Allianz! Good win to kick off our pre-season preparations. Love playing in this weather!"
The Bayern striker then spoke to Sky Sport Germany after the match and added: "The team is hungry and ready. Our squad is strong, we saw that today - and we'll see that again at the start of the season. I'm ready, and we have a few games before the opening game to get into shape."

Kane will look forward to what he hopes will be another strong season on a personal level - having already scored a staggering 85 goals in two seasons at Bayern, including 62 in 63 Bundesliga appearances. Going deep into the Champions League will be a major target for the club in 2025/26 in addition to retaining the league title. Their two closest challengers last year, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt, have both seen star players depart this summer.
