    WHAT HAPPENED?

Gordon was named player of the tournament when the England Under-21 won the European Championship in the summer, and he has had a stellar youth career for England. However, the 22-year-old has not yet received a senior cap, sources state that Scotland is now hoping to call him up since Gordon is eligible for them because of his paternal grandparents. Nevertheless, Southgate has advised the striker to take his time making decisions because he is on the verge of joining the senior team.
