United saw patience rewarded when securing Mbeumo’s signature, with a protracted transfer saga eventually seeing a big-money deal struck with Brentford. The 25-year-old added on making a huge career move: “From the start, I wanted to join this massive club. Now I’m here, I’m just really happy. For me, it’s the biggest club in the world. The fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and every player wants to play here.”
WHAT NEXT FOR MANCHESTER UNITED?
Mbeumo - who has taken No.19 at Old Trafford, having worn the same number for Brentford - could make his bow for the Red Devils during their pre-season tour of the United States, with Premier League rivals West Ham set to be faced at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday.
