  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Ahead of Bayern's Bundesliga clash with high-flying Stuttgart on Sunday, Tuchel was asked if he thought Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness could one day take charge at the Allianz Arena. Tuchel reacted angrily - and it's not the first time he has clashed with journalists and media figures this season.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bayern have not wholly convinced so far this campaign and as a result, Tuchel has come under fire from journalists and critics. Earlier this season he had an on-air spat with Lothar Matthaus after the former Bayern attacker had criticised him and his team. Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga table, but despite the goals of Harry Kane find themselves four points behind Bayer Leverkusen having played one game less.

  • WHAT TUCHEL SAID

In response to the question about Hoeness Tuchel said: "You don’t seriously think that I'll speculate about my possible successor here? I'm here now and who knows for how long. It doesn't matter what I can imagine. The way Stuttgart plays is impressive, that's the signature of Sebastian and his staff."

WHAT NEXT FOR TUCHEL AND BAYERN?

Bayern will look to create some space between themselves and Stuttgart, who are one point behind the reigning champions in third position. A defeat would see the pressure on Tuchel flare up again. On Monday, the German giants will find out their opponents in the last-16 of the Champions League.
