Barbecue instead of bus parade! How Man Utd will celebrate Europa League win if Ruben Amorim’s side can see off Tottenham & land major silverware

Ruben Amorim’s side are set to face Premier League rivals Tottenham in a continental showpiece at San Mames in Bilbao on May 21. Victory in that contest could salvage the 2024-25 campaign for both teams.

United are currently languishing 16th in the English top-flight, with Spurs one spot below them, but Europa League success would land them major silverware and secure qualification for the 2025-26 Champions League.

According to The Sun, there will be no mass celebration in Manchester if United emerge victorious. They say: “United chiefs - or chefs - are reportedly planning a BBQ for one of the most low-key ways a footballing giant has ever marked winning silverware.”

A busy schedule is said to be partly to blame for the subdued celebrations, with United set to tackle Aston Villa in their final Premier League fixtures four days after facing on Tottenham, before then taking in a gruelling 15-hour flight to Asia for tour games in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong on May 28 and 30.

Players and club staff will be invited to the BBQ, following job cuts at Carrington and Old Trafford, with United having not held an open-top bus parade since Sir Alex Ferguson retired on the back of the club’s 13th Premier League title win in 2013.
