Brighton and Hove Albion are closing in on an agreement to sign Manchester United defender Gabby George for a six-figure fee ahead of the new Women's Super League campaign. The 29-year-old enters the final year of her contract after United triggered an extension clause in January, with the versatile full-back eager to secure regular first-team football.

On Sunday, Brighton will play in the Women's FA Cup final for the very first time, taking on Manchester City as they look to win the club's first major trophy, with neither the men nor the women having lifted one before.
