  1. Mngqithi warns 'it’s like someone drunk saying, I don’t want to fall' as he eyes Pirates scalp

Arrows have recently captured the supporters’ attention with a notable upturn in attacking form, netting more than ten goals across their last five matches. This scoring surge is hardly surprising, given the wealth of experience their coach brings to the helm. However, there remains significant work to be done in tightening the defence, as the number of goals conceded highlights the areas that still need improvement. It is this context that explains why Mngqithi describes the team’s humble start to the season as a ‘building phase’.

  2. Petersen balances ambition and team duty - ‘I’d take a good victory over a clean sheet any day’

Over the past few Premier Soccer League seasons, the Soweto giants have struggled to find a consistent and reliable figure between the posts. Goalkeeping has arguably been their second major weakness, right after the striking department. However, with just over ten league matches played, the 31-year-old has stepped up impressively. Although he insists that personal accolades and statistics are not his main focus at the moment.

  3. Chiefs set to ‘find opportunities to play in Dobsonville again’ after warm fan welcome

The Soweto giants have made their intentions clear — exploring possibilities to make their way back to Dobsonville Stadium. This comes as no surprise following the impressive fan turnout during their recent continental fixture at the South Western Township venue. However, questions remain over whether the facilities meet the necessary standards to regularly host top-flight matches.

  4. Pirates turn attention to CKO against 'changed' Magesi

Orlando Pirates will welcome defending champions Magesi FC to Orlando Stadium, with plenty on the line for the Soweto giants. The Buccaneers are eager to restore faith among their supporters after falling short in the CAF Champions League preliminary round — a thrilling 3(4)-3(5) encounter against FC Saint Eloi Lupopo that dashed their continental aspirations. Now, with their focus back on domestic fronts, the Sea Robbers will be determined to chase silverware through the Premier Soccer League and the Carling Black Label Cup, aiming to remind fans that their hunger for success remains as fierce as ever.

  5. Barker convinced Stellenbosch 'can still have a really special season'

The Western Cape outfit came out guns blazing in their league encounter, treating fans to an exciting contest packed with goals at Athlone Stadium against a resilient Arrows side that refused to back down until the final whistle. Despite their uneven form in the PSL, Stellies looked rejuvenated — and it wouldn’t be far-fetched to suggest that their recent CAF Club of the Year nomination provided the extra spark needed to clinch their second league win of the campaign.
