USL Players protest over CBA negotiation standstill

USL Championship players refused to move for the first 60 seconds across all fixtures this weekend in response to the expiration of the league's collective bargaining agreement, and no apparent solution in sight. The contentious negotiations between the USL Players Association and the league have hit a standstill, and the old CBA expired at the turn of the year.

Arsenal prospect Daniel Oyetunde has departed the club on a permanent move to the USA, as the 19-year-old forward looks to kick-start his senior career on the other side of the Atlantic. Signing for the Gunners in 2021, Oyetunde signed his first professional contract in July 2025 but feels that a move to USL League One side Fort Wayne FC is the "right next step" in his development as he embarks on a new chapter.

USL reveals name, competition format of Division 1 league

The United Soccer League revealed the name of its new Division One setup Tuesday morning, announcing that it will be called "USL Premier", with a targeted start date of 2028. The new top division, which was first revealed nearly 12 months ago, will sit atop a three-tiered structure that also includes the pre-existing USL Championship and USL League One.
