Team news & squads
Italy team news
Gattuso has made it clear he’ll scrap the three-man defence that faltered under Luciano Spalletti, reverting instead to a traditional back four. While much of his starting XI remains up in the air, captain Gianluigi Donnarumma, fresh from sealing a high-profile move to Manchester City, will anchor the side in goal.
There have been some notable omissions, with Destiny Udogie, Samuele Ricci, and Lorenzo Lucca all left out. In their place, youngsters Francesco Pio Esposito, Giovanni Fabbian, and Liverpool’s rising defender Giovanni Leoni have received maiden call-ups, though they’re expected to start from the bench.
Up front, Mateo Retegui, who bagged a brace for Al-Qadisiyah at the weekend, will battle it out with Moise Kean, Giacomo Raspadori, and a fully fit Gianluca Scamacca for the striker’s role.
Estonia team news
As for Estonia, they arrive with a 26-man squad that also includes a friendly against Andorra. Captain Karol Mets is again sidelined through injury, leaving a gap in the heart of their defence. Karl Hein, the Werder Bremen keeper on Arsenal’s books, is expected to start in goal, with ex-Tottenham man Maksim Paskotsi marshalling the back line.
Going forward, veteran Henri Anier remains the nation’s top active scorer, but it's Rauno Sappinen who looks the likelier option to spearhead their attack.
