Wrexham x Formula 1! Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney enjoy themselves at Las Vegas Grand Prix as Accrington Stanley row brews back in North Wales

The Hollywood stars, who completed a stunning takeover at SToK Racecourse in the spring of 2021, form part of an investment group that have bought into the Alpine Formula One team. That association is allowing them to rub shoulders with fellow A-list stars in Nevada.

McElhenney has been in Vegas with his wife Kaitlin Olson, while Reynolds discovered that Alpine star Esteban Ocon would be sporting a Deadpool-inspired helmet when taking to the track. Ocon was able to claim a fourth-place finish in the race itself, given his team plenty to shout about.

The rich and famous were out in force as F1 hit Vegas, with the likes of football superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal also in attendance – while music icon Justin Bieber had the honour of waving the chequered flag as a historic Grand Prix came to a close.

Reynolds and McElhenney can now turn their attention back to football matters, as Wrexham push for promotion out of League Two. They have become embroiled in a surprising row with fourth tier rivals Accrington Stanley, with criticism being aimed in the direction of prominent figures in the Red Dragons boardroom.
