Weston McKennie’s dad gets his wish! Juventus considering tactical tweak that will benefit USMNT stars

McKennie senior has spoken out on social media urging the Bianconeri to move his son back into a more natural midfield berth – having seen him used as a right wing-back over recent weeks. That role has meant that fellow United States international Tim Weah has, as a winger by trade, been stuck on the bench.

Juve may, however, be about to shuffle their pack and revert back to a 4-4-2 system for a derby date with Torino. McKennie is said to figure prominently in those plans, with the Serie A giants eager to bring the best out of the hard-working 25-year-old after he's bounced back from a difficult loan spell at Leeds.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juve are ready to return McKennie to the middle of the park – allowing him to keep their engine room ticking over. There may also be an opportunity for Weah to return to Massimiliano Allegri’s starting XI on the right flank.

McKennie is likely to figure even if no change is made to Juve’s formation, as his versatility is put to good use. However, the American star did forge his reputation as a central midfielder and will be eager to play that position as often as possible after proving his worth to the Serie A heavyweights all over again.
