WATCH: Wayne Rooney forgets Derby in EFL club quiz – but keeps Tom Brady & Ryan Reynolds happy by managing to get Birmingham & Wrexham

The Manchester United and England legend was charged with the task of naming as many Football League teams as he could in 72 seconds. He was able to keep his current club happy, with Tom Brady and the Blues board delighted to discover that he could remember Birmingham, while the presence of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at Wrexham means that they are never far from the thoughts of football followers.

Rooney did, however, manage to overlook the fact that he took in 35 appearances for Derby as a player, before spending 85 matches as their manager. Given that he suffered relegation into League One while in charge of the Rams, perhaps he has attempted to erase that era from his memory.

Rooney did not fare particularly well even with his Derby faux pas taken out of the equation, with the 38-year-old – who is back in England at St Andrew’s following a spell in charge of MLS side D.C. United – only able to name 28 of the Football League’s 72 clubs.

Brady and the Birmingham board will be hoping that Rooney has other things on his mind at present. It is perhaps easy to forget about certain rivals when attempting to deliver on ambitious targets in the West Midlands, that are supposed to include a push back towards the Premier League.
