  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Chile international Vidal was sent off for Colo Colo in their 4-0 Copa Libertadores defeat to Racing Club after responding to jeering Argentinian fans with a hand gesture. The former Juventus and Barcelona star raised two fingers to the crowd, referencing the two Copa America titles in 2015 and 2016 when his national team beat Argentina in both finals.

    Vidal had already been booked when he reacted to the taunting, effectively ending Colo Colo's chances of progression in the Copa Libertadores. The Chilean side have managed only two points from five games so far and can no longer reach the knockout phase.
