VIDEO: Angry Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart has two balls thrown at him after confronting Hearts fans before being dragged away by USMNT star Cameron Carter-Vickers

The former Manchester City and England goalkeeper did not take kindly to the taunts being aimed in his direction during a visit to Edinburgh. Celtic endured a day to forget as a collective, with Brendan Rodgers’ side seeing Adam Idah miss a penalty and Yang Hyun-Jun sent off during a 2-0 defeat.

Jorge Grant converted Hearts’ opener from the spot, following a VAR review for handball, and Hart headed towards the crowd after being beaten from 12 yards. He was clearly annoyed by the actions of some of those in the home end.

Hart headed over intending to get the ball, but saw it launched at him instead. As he argued with those concerned, another ball was thrown against his shoulder. With tempers threatening to boil over, USMNT star Carter-Vickers stepped in and dragged his team-mate back onto the field.

Celtic missed the chance to reclaim top spot in the Scottish Premiership when suffering a shock loss to Hearts, with Old Firm rivals Rangers still two points clear. Hart is in the process of taking in a long goodbye to elite football, with the 36-year-old set to retire in the summer.
