    WHAT FOX SAID

Discussing those targets with FIFA’s official website, Fox has said: “First and foremost, coming to Arsenal and being part of this team was a big goal of mine, so being here and getting settled in has been really special for me. I think [domestically] we’re still in the League Cup, so focusing on our game and getting the top spots [in the WSL] so that we can qualify for the Champions League and win the league. The bar is always high, always wanting to win, but it’s a process. When you’re 15 or 16, you see the national team be so successful, you're like, ‘They make it look easy!’ But then I think when you’re in it, the day-to-day is a grind and that’s what also makes it so enjoyable. Also, with Emma [Hayes] coming in and a new cycle [with the USWNT], I just want to be consistent and show what I can bring to this team. Then there’s the Olympics and then wanting to be one of, if not the best, full-backs in the world. Those are a few of my goals!”

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Virginia native Fox has left her homeland for the first time, having previously represented Racing Louisville and the North Carolina Courage, and has settled quickly at Arsenal. She added on making an immediate impact in the WSL: “It’s been really good. The girls have been so welcoming as well as the coaches and staff. I feel like I’ve got a lot of support, which is huge in my first time being overseas. It’s been really good with how the team has been playing, players coming back [from injury] and Kim [Little] making her 300th appearance. It’s just been a really exciting and fun month for me to join this team and be a part of it. We’re excited for the big games we have coming up.”

    WHAT NEXT FOR FOX?

Arsenal have a derby date with Tottenham to come on March 3, before then facing Aston Villa in the League Cup semi-finals. They are only three points off the pace in the WSL title race, while Fox also has the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris to look forward to later this year.
