USMNT star Christian Pulisic relives 'incredible' feeling of scoring first AC Milan goal in front of 'passionate' San Siro fans

The USMNT star left Stamford Bridge during the summer of 2023, with a €20 million (£17m/$22m) transfer bringing a four-year stint in west London to a close. Pulisic has made a positive impression in Italy, with seven goals and six assists recorded through 26 appearances.

Pulisic scored on his Milan debut, away at Bologna, before also finding the target in his first appearance on home soil against Torino on August 26. He has told Serie A’s official YouTube channel of that experience: “You know always remember those moments, your first goal at a new club. I was very excited to score and the first at San Siro was incredible. The passion of all the fans, to hear them yell your name, of course it’s a special feeling.”

Milan supporters have taken Pulisic to their hearts, given his work rate and end product, and the 25-year-old American is enjoying life in Italy – having bid farewell to the inclement weather experienced by the English capital: “I’ve settled in here, I think Milan is a great city. I’m doing my best trying to learn the language, getting used to the culture, the food has been great, everything about Italy is super nice. It’s definitely an improvement in the weather, compared to where I’ve been before.”

Milan have won four of their five games in 2024, with pressure beginning to ease on under-fire coach Stefano Pioli. There is, however, a chance that a change in the dugout will be made in the summer, with Pulisic and fellow United States international Yunus Musah set to work under a different manager in 2024-25.
