USMNT and Juventus winger Tim Weah reportedly agrees transfer with Premier League side Nottingham Forest

English Premier League side Nottingham Forest has reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of U.S. international Tim Weah and Belgian winger Samuel Mbangula, with a fee of $25.4 million (€22 million) agreed for both attackers, according to ESPN UK.

The moves will not be finalized until the Premier League side agrees on personal terms with the two wingers, and with both competing with the Bianconeri at the FIFA Club World Cup currently, it is not expected that the deal will be finalized until they exit the competition. Forest is, however, reportedly working with both Mbangula and Weah to reach an agreement on personal terms, including salary and length of contract.

Weah has scored seven goals and recorded six assists in 78 appearances across all competitions for the Bianconeri since arriving from French side Lille in the summer of 2023. In January, he was linked with a potential move to Everton, but the deal never came to fruition.

If he signs for Forest, Weah would join a team that finished seventh in the Premier League last season, and will be competing in the UEFA Conference League this coming campaign - their first European competition in 29 years. Internationally, the 25-year-old has become a mainstay with the USMNT, having made 42 appearances for the Stars and Stripes, scoring seven goals and recording five assists.

Mbangula, meanwhile, is still very much a prospect in the world's game at 21 years old but has shown through glimpses of first-team minutes that he is a tricky winger who excels in 1v1 situations. In the 2024-25 season, he made 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and recording four assists.

If Weah's deal with Forest comes to fruition, he will be the third American in the past two years to sign with the club, following the likes of Gio Reyna and Matt Turner.

Turner is still on Forest's books, but was loaned to Crystal Palace during the 2024-25 season, and is expected to sign with Ligue 1 side Lyon on a permanent transfer this summer.

The 25-year-old American and Juventus report for Matchday 3 of the Group Stage of the Club World Cup on Thursday, when they take on Erling Haaland's Manchester City in Group G. The match will determine who wins the group, and who takes second, as both clubs have already advanced to the knockout round of the competition.

Weah featured in game one of the competition, a 5-0 win over Al Ain, but went unused on the bench in Game 2 - a 4-1 win over Wydad Casablanca.
