WHAT HAPPENED?
The Ivory Coast international continues to see questions asked of his future as the January transfer window winds down. There is still time for him secure a move elsewhere, potentially on loan, before the winter deadline passes.
Having seen the 21-year-old star on loan at Sunderland last season – registering 14 goals and four assists – one Black Cats supporter has posted on social media: “Here, Amad Diallo - if they're not going to start you in the FA Cup away at Newport County, it really really isn't worth you giving them your time. Come home, come somewhere you are truly appreciated.”

It later emerged that Amad had liked that comment, before ensuring that said post was deleted from his timeline, with Sunderland making no secret of the fact that they would like him back. Sporting director Kristjaan Speakman has said: “The situation is clear. We have a positive relationship with the boy, his people and Manchester United. Can he improve us? Yes. Have we enquired? Yes. Have we kept in contact with him? Yes. My head would be on a stake if not! Even if he became available we might not get him.”

WHAT NEXT FOR AMAD?
The latest transfer window will swing shut on Thursday, with Amad likely to continue generating speculation until a definitive decision is made on his future – with the talented winger expected to push for minutes elsewhere if United boss Erik ten Hag cannot guarantee him regular game time.
