Liverpool confirm long-term contract extension for young right-back following Trent Alexander-Arnold's free transfer to Real Madrid

Bradley has been earmarked as a potential successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right-hand-side of the Liverpool defence. The Northern Irish international has impressed when deputising for the Englishman and could nail down a regular starting berth when Alexander-Arnold completes his move to Real Madrid next month. In signing a lengthy deal with the club, Bradley - and his boss Arne Slot - will hope he can offer a seamless, long-term replacement.

Liverpool are also being linked strongly with and are expected to complete a move for Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong in the summer. The former Manchester City and Celtic player has been identified as an option to replicate the attacking output offered at full-back by Alexander-Arnold and looks set to seal a £30 million ($40m) move to the Reds. Bradley and Frimpong will provide Slot with yet another selection headache at full-back, but the Dutch coach will enjoy having to contrasting players to call upon.

Speaking to Liverpool's website, Bradley expressed his delight at signing a new deal, which reportedly ties him to the club until 2029, saying: "To sign another contract, I’m very proud and happy to see what the next steps on our journey together will be. You’ve just got to keep your head down and keep working hard. It has been a fantastic two years [with the senior team]. Especially since coming back from loan and doing so well last year and continuing that on this year. It’s been really good. So, hopefully we can keep going and keep making more memories.”

With the likelihood of Frimpong joining the club growing by the day, Bradley will be determined to prove to Slot why he should be considered first-choice next season. The Reds have two games remaining in the Premier League this season. They travel to Brighton on Monday before hosting Crystal Palace on the final game of the campaign.
