A man transformed! Ryan Gravenberch claims Premier League Young Player of the Season prize after resurgent campaign under Arne Slot at Liverpool

The Dutch midfielder has enjoyed a renaissance season at Anfield as he transformed from a squad player under Jurgen Klopp to the integral cog in Arne Slot's midfield. After Liverpool failed to add a defensive midfielder in the summer, there were concerns that the Reds would struggle this season. However, Gravenberch has filled the hole and answered all questions asked of him this campaign.

Gravenberch joined the Reds from Bayern Munich, where he had also found game time limited. Once considered one of the brightest talents in European football, Gravenberch had seemed unable to recapture the form he displayed at Ajax. That was the case until Slot joined Liverpool. Shifted slightly further back to the base of midfield, the 23-year-old has reinvented himself and was vital in Liverpool winning the Premier League.

Gravenberch saw off stiff competition to win the Young Player of the Season award. He beat Ipswich's Liam Delap, Nottingham Forest's Anthony Elanga, Bournemouth's Dean Huijsen, Chelsea's Cole Palmer, Brighton's Joao Pedro, Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers and Arsenal's William Saliba to claim the prize.

Gravenberch will lift the Premier League title on Sunday when the Reds host Crystal Palace. The title was sewn up weeks ago, but the Reds will finally hoist the trophy above their heads in the final home game of the season.
